About

This site is all about baking bread.  The purpose is to get siblings Adam and Ashley baking more bread and learning the in’s and out’s of what makes good bread.  We’re extremely excited and hope that the project will run for some time.

Ashley says: Adam is my older brother. I was really happy that he was as excited as I was when I suggested this bread blog idea to him! He’s a self professed total noob when it comes to baking, but I plan to help change that. Thankfully he’s got lots of web experience which has helped with both my blog and this blog, among other things. He’s quite the photographer, as you’ll see that his photos are billions times more awesome than mine. He has a wonderful wife, a super adorable and brilliant daughter (my niece!), and the most laidback dog ever.

Adam says: Ashley is my sister. We’re quite a few years apart but the gap is closing.. percentage wise anyways as we grow older. She had this great idea to do a blog with me about bread! She’s been blogging for a few years already at www.eatmedelicious.com and is in school to become a health inspector. She’s a nut about baking and has a really lovely cat that you’ll find over at her blog under the tag: “abby”. She’s getting married later this year – hopefully I remember to update this and edit that she did get married.

We both live in the lower mainland just outside of Vancouver, BC proper.

What a wonderful idea…your sourdough looks delicious!
I love to bake but have not made bread in years, but when I did my favorite was pumpernickel. Have fun! Susan

Hi I am wondering what bread recipe book you are baking your way thru. I love to bake and trying new recipes. Also my big question goes like this…Down by our cabin there are a lot of Amish. When I go there I like to buy their bread for it has this wonderful soft crust. I am ashamed to say I can not figure out how they do it. Do you have any clues? I am not saying mine are tough, they are just not soft.
